Hi.

Welcome to SageLife Online Counselling and thank you for visiting this site.

I'm Karen March, a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Therapist with a Masters degree in Social Science (Counselling), a certified Mindfulness & Meditation guide (Lifeflow), with training in Narrative Therapy (Dulwich Centre), Cognitive Therapy, and Values/Strength-based approaches.

For sixteen years I operated Karen March Counselling & Therapy, a private counselling practice at the Aldinga Medical Surgery in South Australia, offering both face-to-face and online sessions until late 2021. The service catered to adult male and female clients with a wide variety of issues, coming from the Fleurieu Region encompassing Victor Harbor right through to Aldinga, Aldinga Beach, Willunga, McLaren Vale, Seaford, Noarlunga, and Hallett Cove. I have also acted as a Senior Consultant to Converge International, one of the largest national providers of Employee Assistance programs and workplace counselling.

I understand how difficult it can be to find the motivation and time to drive to an appointment, even though you feel you would benefit from talking with someone. You may even be concerned about privacy around seeing a professional in a busy practice and would prefer something more discrete.

For this reason, I have set up SageLife Counselling as an exclusively online service which will give you flexibility in your busy life by allowing you to talk to a professional in the comfort and familiarity of a location that suits you. Now, no matter where you live in South Australia, you can access a professional and confidential counselling session with ease.

The Philosophy behind the practice

This counselling practice is for those clients who are not seeking a clinical service.

SageLife Counselling is focused on clients who are looking to foster ways of positive living, to flourish in their lives and to create meaning.

You may simply want to talk things through with someone experienced and professional. You may be looking to express your thoughts and feelings to someone who is objective and non-judgemental, or perhaps you seek another perspective or some tools to bring you balance in your life.

We human beings wrestle with all kinds of issues in the course of living.

The problem you are experiencing may be a normal part of daily life but can nevertheless profoundly affect your well-being and happiness.

SageLife Counselling is focused primarily on the everyday experience; the unexpected events, the complexities of relationships of all kinds, the responsibilities and consequences we carry, the search for meaning, fulfilment and sense of Self, and the human struggle with grief and loss related to not only mortality but also to change and lost opportunities. Regardless of your issue, there will be an underlying focus during the counselling process on developing a meaningful framework for the client.

It’s common to sweep away or try to rationalise our feelings and reactions to everyday life problems, but in doing so, we risk underestimating the effect they may be having on our well-being, our behaviour, our choices, our emotional life and our relationships.

SageLife Counselling can also offer therapeutic help in the navigation of your everyday life with a focus on increasing well-being and personal fulfilment, and capacities for resilience, optimism, positivity, and acceptance.

You can find articles on various aspects of everyday life issues in the Blog section of this website.

They may provide a starting point to explore an issue that resonates with you.
