We can all face daily issues and common life problems at any stage of our lives. Knowing how to keep our perspective and balance during these times is so important.

"Literally taking yourself somewhere where you have a different physical viewpoint, can change your relationship to what you thought was an insurmountable problem."

Common life difficulties include:

  • Conflict with family members, friends, or work colleagues

  • Job dissatisfaction

  • Adjustment to life changes

  • Grief and loss

  • Finding meaning and purpose

  • Stress

  • Disillusionment with how things have panned out

  • Resentment and disappointment

  • Difficulties with Self-worth

  • Repetitive patterns

  • Feeling stuck

One of the most important initial steps we can take to encourage a vision beyond the everyday is to develop a sense of a bigger purpose; a bigger vision. Literally taking yourself somewhere where you have a different physical viewpoint, can change your relationship to what you thought was an insurmountable problem.

For this we need to incorporate the following practices into our daily lives:

  1. Identify your strengths and how to use them

  2. Communication and Problem-solving skills

  3. Learn how to play with new perspectives

  4. Creative thinking

  5. Ability to acknowledge your feelings

  6. Mindfulness and stress-relieving strategies

  7. Practice gratitude

  8. Favour optimism rather than cynicism

  9. Know the values that are important to you

  10. Find your tribe and create community

  11. Find ways to give time and attention to others

  12. Create opportunities to fill your own cup

All of these qualities are critical to understanding and envisioning what is possible in both the present and the future. #lookingbeyondtheeveryday
